Small by choice, careful by habit.
Kya Software is an independent studio building applications that are meant to feel personal — the kind of software you'd want to keep using, not just download once.
We work on one idea at a time and take the time each one needs. That means fewer apps, built more deliberately — with attention going into the parts that are easy to rush past: how something is worded, how it feels the second time you open it, what happens when you have nothing to say.
We believe software should respect the person using it. That shapes decisions before a single screen is designed: what data an app actually needs, how it explains itself, and how easy it is to simply close and forget about when you don't need it.
Useful first
An app earns its place by solving something real, not by adding features for their own sake.
Thoughtful design
Interfaces should be quiet and legible. If a screen needs explaining, it needs redesigning.
Privacy by default
Personal apps hold personal things. We design around that from the first decision, not the last.
Simplicity
Most of the work is deciding what to leave out. A simple app is a harder app to build well.
Personality
Software doesn't have to be neutral to be professional. We'd rather it felt like something.
Built to last
We'd rather ship less and maintain it properly than move fast and leave things unfinished.

My Diary and My Life are both in active development, with more ideas taking shape behind the scenes.
